James Childs is a Board Member and Chief Revenue Officer of Komodo Systems based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Komodo Systems is an IP backed airspace monitoring and user experience company with active implementations in hospitality, industrial and broadband networks across global customers. Komodo’s cloud based dashboard and analytics platform enable customers to gauge true user experience in the Wifi and LTE domain. Customers such as Coca-Cola, Autoliv, and Marriott franchisee’s trust Komodo’s solution to deliver KPI’s on the live state of WiFi and to improve network experience from best efforts to carrier class.
James has over 20 years experience in the wireless broadband ecosystem having started the first wireless ISP in the Western US in 1999. James and his team built the network from scratch and grew the subscriber base to over 25,000 businesses, MDU properties and residences using early 2.4GHz and 900MHz 802.11 systems.
James has held senior management roles with Alianza (pioneering VoIP over Wifi Networks), MSTAR and Broadcast International along with spending the last 5 years building mmW 28-40GHz networks with over 25 carriers and ISP’s in the US for Cambridge Broadband Networks Ltd. (CBNL).
James is an MIT Exec Ed participant in IoT, Wifi, 5G innovation and implementation strategy and received a BSc in Applied Analysis from Utah Valley University. When not building next generation networks you’ll find him on the sideline of an NBA game or on a river fishing in Alaska.
James remains an Executive Advisor to Cambridge Broadband Networks and a seed investor in US based early stage technology start ups.
